- Construction Stanford ChEM-H and Institute of Neuroscience Underway -
June 6, 2018
The Construction Team has made significant progress on the 231,000 sq.ft. cross-disciplinary flagship research center for Stanford. As of June 2018, most of the main building systems have been installed, including building superstructures, all major air handling units, exhaust fans, electrical switchboards, and underground plumbing services. Overhead utilities are currently being installed in the basement and first floor.
Designed by Ennaed Architects from New York, this $200 million project will allow for collaboration between researchers from quantitative sciences, chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, psychology, bioengineering, and the life sciences. The anticipated completion is Spring 2019. Sustainable measures for the building include high performance envelope design, VAV distributed cooling and heating system with optimized controls, full LED lighting and extensive lighting controls, disposable caging for animal holding, and low flow plumbing fixtures. Gayner Engineers is honored to have participated in this project
